This is a responsibility that we can not deliver. Our words, our acts, our dress, our behavior, even the expression of our face, influence. Print thus made dependent on results for better or for worse, that no man can measure. If by our example we help others to develop good principles, we give them power to do good. They in turn have the same influence on others, and these on others. Thus, thousands can be blessed by our unconscious influence.
Throw a pebble into the lake, and form a wave, and another and another, and as they grow, the circle gets bigger until it reaches the coast. What does our influence. Beyond the scope our knowledge or control, work in others as a blessing or a curse.
Character is power. The silent witness of a life sincere, unselfish and loving, has an almost irresistible influence. By revealing in our own lives the character of Christ, we cooperate with him in the work of saving souls. Only revealing his character in our lives, we can cooperate with him.
And the wider the sphere of our influence, the more good we can do. When those who profess to serve God follow Christ's example of practicing the principles of law in their daily life, when every act bears witness that love God more than all things and their neighbor as themselves, then the church will have power to touch the world
